Overview
Allergy Associates Research Center emphasizes clinical research in asthma, hay fever, allergic rhinitis, nonallergic rhinitis, and skin problems such as hives (urticaria) and eczema. All of our research is supported by pharmaceutical companies developing new treatments for those illnesses above.
In recent years, our research activity has been vast, with five full time research coordinators and additional support personal who facilitate approximately 20 separate Clinical Trails involving about 500 study subjects annually. Since 1986, we have successfully completed over 430 phase II-IV clinical trials. Sponsoring institutions have included Abbott Laboratories, Altana, AstraZeneca, Aventis, Genentech, GlaxoSmithKline, Hoffmann LaRoche, Merck, Novartis, Sepracor, and Schering-Plough Research Institute.
Typically these Clinical Trials last for 4 to 14 weeks and some patients are studied for up to two years on new allergy and asthma products. We are recruiting and enrolling patients for asthma and allergy research trials now.
Benefits of being a Clinical Trial subject include:
- A comprehensive evaluation at no cost to you
- Free study medication, comprehensive and expert care for the problem for the duration
of the clinical trial,
- A stipend in recognition of your time spent that usually varies by clinical trial.
- Average number of office visits range from 4 to 12.
A comprehensive education process occurs before enrolling in a Clinical Trial so the subject knows exactly what to expect. The candidate patient then gives written informed consent after all questions are answered. All research is strictly regulated by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
